FLIK is a new program made for dentists by dentists. The mission of the Future Leaders of Isaac Knapp is “To provide dentists of IKDDS a leadership development program for self-discovery, business planning, clinical development, and mentorship.”

Program Requirements

  • Member of Isaac Knapp District Dental Society
  • Upon Program Acceptance, you are agreeing to attend all training modules
  • Upon Program Acceptance, you are agreeing to pay the Program Cost: $1,000
  • Program Cost includes all programming fees, meals, and ticket to April 2025 IKDDS Spring Fling (Graduation).

FLIK Program Days are on Fridays from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Programming Dates and Descriptions are listed below.

Module 1: Personal Vision
September 27, 2024

Participants will identify the Tenants of Effective Leadership, define a personal vision statement, and learn the core principles for an effective case presentation for clinical roundtable discussions.

Module 2: Professional Vision
October 25, 2024

Participants will identify the Secret Struggles of Leadership and Being your best self. They will begin to develop a Professional vision statement and learn how to implement a balanced vision. Program day will conclude with Clinical Roundtable Discussions

Module 3: Communication Styles
November 22, 2024

Participants will identify the different Communication Styles and how to build a strategy when communicating with your dental team. Program day will conclude with Clinical Roundtable Discussions

Module 4: HIPAA & Ethical Communication
January 24, 2025

Participants will learn current legal considerations surrounding HIPAA laws and the ethical frameworks for successful patient communications. Participants will also discuss situational communication. Program day will conclude with Clinical Roundtable Discussions

Module 5: Execution of Finances
February 28, 2025

Participants will learn considerations for managing profit in a dental office and how to maximize efficiency with systems and scheduling. Program day will conclude with Clinical Roundtable Discussions

March 21, 2025

Participants will learn about putting their vision on view, fear and the effective use of social media and marketing. Program day will conclude with Clinical Roundtable Discussions

FLIK Graduation: IKDDS Spring Fling
Thursday, April 24, 2025

Participants will receive recognition and 1 complimentary ticket to attend the annual IKDDS Spring Fling to be held at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

Module 7: Volunteer Day
April 25, 2025

*Note* Programming day may start earlier. Participants will learn the importance of giving back to the community and will volunteer at a local dental clinic and learn about working in a community clinic.
